Johnny Cash Music Festival Planned For August 4th To Benefit Historical Site

Arkansas State University has teamed with the family of Johnny Cash to produce the Johnny Cash Music Festival at the ASU Convocation Center on August 4th, with all proceeds going to develop a historical site in Johnny’s hometown of Dyess, Arkansas. Work is underway to restore the exterior of the 1934 Dyess Colony Administration Building, stabilize the facade of the 1940 Dyess Theater, and display a replica of Johnny’s boyhood home. Organizers hope to raise about $500,000 for the project.
