Johnny Cash ‘Bootleg Vol. IV: The Soul Of Truth’ – Uncut Magazine Review

The May 2012 issue of Uncut has given Johnny Cash’s “Bootleg Vol. IV: The Soul of Truth” eight out of 10 stars! The magazine writes, “It’s a surprisingly illumination collection … these are not sharp deviations from Cash’s modus operandi. The Tennessee Three and various Nashville pros play the classic Cash sound, while the singer refracts his pious philosophy through the vision of, and belief in, a benevolent, forgiving deity. … Even ardent unbelievers might melt within Cash’s righteous-yet-easygoing tapestry unto the Lord.”
